One of the applications of Proportionair proportional valve in pharmaceutical industry-speed control of pneumatic double diaphragm pump
Pneumatic double diaphragm pumps use air to control the speed of the diaphragm when pumping various liquids in many manufacturing facilities. Proportion-Air's electronic pressure regulator can easily provide pump speed control for most pneumatic double diaphragm pumps.
Generally, our QB3 model provides enough flow to control the speed of most 1 "and 2" pneumatic double diaphragm pumps. For larger pumps, we recommend using our QB1/PSR pressure control assembly. This is a single ring assembly, and its accuracy is lower than our 2 ring assembly. However, in this application, our 2-loop assembly reacts too quickly to the back pressure generated by the pump, which may cause unnecessary oscillations. Our single-loop components do not react as quickly because QB1 only controls the pressure on the PSR dome. This allows the PSR to mechanically adjust to backpressure peaks without having to simultaneously address dome pressure changes.
