Application of Proportion-air proportional valve in paper thickness control in manufacturing

By adding proportional air and ultrasonic sensors through FCV, the process of controlling the thickness of the paper becomes easier.

In the image below, white water (a mixture of white paper fibers and water) is sprayed on the screen. The ultrasonic sensor constantly measures the thickness of the paper and transmits this information to the PLC or controller. The PLC then commands the FCV to flow more or less liquid. The thickness of the paper is determined by the flow rate of the FCV.

Typically, more than 8 to 20 individual flow controllers are arranged on a wide conveyor belt. FCV is a 1-inch electronically controlled needle valve, which is very suitable for controlling the flow of various liquids and gases for such processes.
