Applications that require precise pressure regulation to fill small volumes benefit from an additional regulator that controls the supply air before it reaches the electro-pneumatic pressure regulator. When the water supply pressure is close to the output pressure, the water output of inches is easier to control. When there is a high pressure differential between the supply and output, the inlet valve may not be able to operate fast enough to prevent large set point overshoot and instability. Repeated or sustained large overshoot can cause damage to the sensor.
The SaveAir reduces the air pressure entering the EPR to a preset limit (14.5 psi in the picture), protecting the internal sensor from overpressure, reducing overshoot and instability.
