Application of Proprotion-air electric proportional valve on baking proof box

This sketch shows the QB2 electric proportional valve guiding the steam regulator to control the temperature in the bakery proof box. The combination of the QB2 and steam regulator creates a simple steam control valve.

The QB2 and steam regulator assembly replaces the traditional steam valve and I to Ps. The proportional air steam regulator assembly allows for tighter temperature control for two reasons:

1. The steam regulator has a sensor port connected between the downstream steam pressure and the bottom of the regulator diaphragm, so it can "see" the downstream pressure and mechanically compensate for it. The steam valve does not have this sensing port.

2. The assembly uses an electro-proportional valve QB2, which takes feedback from the downstream pressure sensor and closes the loop around the pressure to achieve tighter closed-loop control. Since the temperature is directly related to the pressure of the saturated steam, this assembly will provide tighter temperature control. There is no need to use this component to adjust the PID loop, just issue a command to QB2 to reach the required pressure (temperature), and it will achieve it.
