Application of Proportion-air Proportional Valve for Plunger Pressure Control in Frost Distribution
The following figure shows the QB3 controlling the plunger pressure to achieve an automatic icing dispensing process. A pneumatic diaphragm pump fills one plunger, while a spare plunger dispenses product. QB3 is used to proportionally control the air pressure on the plunger to control consistent product flow.
The volume of the plunger and the dispensing speed determine the desired flow rate. In this case, a flow of approximately 20 CFM is required to maintain the dispense rate and keep up with the conveyor belt. The QB3 has a flow rate of up to 30 SCFM and controls the pressure on the plunger to an accuracy of ± 0.25% of the full scale calibration.
