Laser cutting machine for compressed air quality requirements
Laser cutting is the use of the nature of the high power density of the laser beam, the laser convergence to a very small spot, the rapid heating of the material, so that it reaches the boiling point after vaporization to form a void, and then by moving the laser beam on the surface of the material to create a slit, complete the cutting of the processed object.
Laser cutting is one of the thermal cutting methods, which can be divided into four kinds: laser gasification cutting, laser melting cutting, laser oxygen assisted melting cutting and controlled fracture cutting.
Working principle of laser cutting
Compared with other cutting methods, laser cutting is characterized by fast cutting speed and high quality. Specifically summarized as follows:
(1) Good cutting quality. Because of the small laser spot, high energy density and fast cutting speed, laser cutting can obtain better cutting quality.
(2) The laser gas cutting incision is narrow, parallel to the two sides of the slit and good perpendicularity with the surface.
(3) The cutting surface is smooth and beautiful, and can even be used as the last processing process without mechanical processing, and the parts can be used directly.
(4) After the material is laser cut, the width of the heat-affected zone is very small, the performance of the material near the cutting seam is almost unaffected, and the workpiece deformation is small, and the cutting accuracy is high. The cutting speed of laser cutting and other cutting methods are compared in the table below, and the cutting material is low carbon steel plate.
Laser cutting machine can deal with a variety of materials and complex shapes of cutting requirements, in addition to the need to be able to provide high-energy lasers, auxiliary gas is an indispensable material to complete the cutting process. The auxiliary gases used for laser cutting are mainly oxygen (O2), nitrogen (N2) and compressed air (Compressed Air) three. Compressed air is more easily available than oxygen and nitrogen, and the price is very cheap compared to oxygen and nitrogen. It is very common to use compressed air as an auxiliary gas for cutting.
The quality of compressed air has a very direct impact on the quality of metal laser cutting, and the size and stability of the gas pressure will affect the cutting effect.
